As one of the first recognized sustainable schools in Canada, Mundy’s Bay incorporates energy efficient systems along with significant elements of the community’s heritage. Student achievement and environmental sustainability were the driving principles behind the design that has created an atmosphere to boost productivity and inspire learning. In keeping with the green theme of the project, the school has gone on to receive the Ontario ECO Schools Gold award recognizing the recycling, composting and other sustainable initiatives of the staff and students.
