Royal Rose Place Long Term Care
Back to TopTed Handy and Associates were the prime consultants responsible for design and technical documents as well as co-ordinating and overseeing the entire consultant team. Alternate sites were considered for the development, and the Prince Charles Drive site selected due to its access, availability and suitability for an expanded campus.
Design was developed in response to a Ministry of Health proposal call for an integrated 96 bed Long Term Care facility with a 102 unit Retirement Lodge on 3.7 acres (2 homes of 32 beds each). Phase One of the project – the LTC facility – commenced construction in November 2014 and completed as scheduled in June 2016. The facility has been endorsed by the Ministry of Health to meet their new ‘A’ class accommodation. The 69,760 sf Phase One facility came in on budget and construction proceeded with foundations and services through the winter months, despite an arduous winter.
Phase I included a Rehabilitation Clinic, Doctor’s Offices and a Beauty Salon that are accessible to the Community.
